Arrow McLaren represents three determined entities – Arrow Electronics, McLaren Racing and Schmidt Peterson Motorsports – which joined forces at the end of 2019 in a strategic partnership with a clear aim: to compete for the NTT INDYCAR SERIES championship and the Indianapolis 500. Arrow McLaren will field three cars in the 2024 NTT INDYCAR SERIES: the No. 5 Arrow McLaren Chevrolet piloted by Pato O’Ward; the No. 6 Arrow McLaren Chevrolet piloted by David Malukas and the No. 7 Arrow McLaren Chevrolet piloted by Alexander Rossi. The team began under the leadership of Sam Schmidt as Sam Schmidt Motorsports in 2001 with the aim of fighting for wins and championships. It achieved multiple victories and seven titles in INDY NXT by Firestone. Ric Peterson joined as co-owner of the team in 2013, and the two continue to be engaged as the team has recorded 11 victories since then. McLaren Racing returned to the NTT INDYCAR SERIES through a partnership with Schmidt Peterson in 2020, its first season back since the 1970s. This partnership led to a more significant investment in 2021 with McLaren as a majority stakeholder in the team. Arrow McLaren has since become a contender in NTT INDYCAR SERIES championship, competing at the top nearly every race weekend and led by Team Principal Gavin Ward. O’Ward has finished fourth or better in the series three times in the last four years, including a fourth-place finish in 2023. The team returns Rossi for his second season with the team in 2024 and welcomes 21-year-old Malukas to complete the three-car lineup. For the second year in a row, the team also will field four cars for the Indianapolis 500 as Kyle Larson will make his attempt at The Double. At the heart of Arrow McLaren is a shared ambition: to race and to win. For its people, its partners, its fans and for the sport.
