Inaugural Festival Will Take Place August 6-8, Tickets on Sale Now

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 26, 2021) – After months of learning and perfecting tunes by rock and roll legends, including those of the world’s most notorious rock band Mötley Crüe, students from both the Franklin and Nashville School of Rock locations were surprised Thursday by none other than lead vocalist Vince Neil, who invited them to partake in a performance at this year’s inaugural Big Machine Music City Grand Prix in August. The surprise visit to the Franklin, TN location coincided with the announcement that School of Rock, a leader in performance-based music education, will be a sponsor of the event.

“At the School of Rock, we believe the stage is the greatest teacher, and we love providing our students the opportunity to play high profile gigs like the Grand Prix,” says Kelly McCreight, co-owner of School of Rock Franklin/Nashville.  “Having Vince Neil come and speak with the kids, listen to them play, and actually get on stage with them…priceless!  At the School of Rock, our goal is to teach music through performance, but also build a community of young musicians that understand and appreciate artist and bands from every generation and genre…from The Beatles, Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones to MoTown and Funk to Van Halen and Mötley Crüe.  It means so much to us when artists like Vince take the time to spend with our students and offer insight and praise.”

School of Rock will host one of three live performance stages on property [lineup and performance times TBA – location Cumberland Park] that will include a variety of headline musical performances, interviews, community presentations and more throughout each day, making it the festival of speed and sound Music City has been waiting for!

“We are thrilled to partner with an organization that truly embodies Nashville’s passion for and commitment to music for all ages,” said Matt Crews, CEO of the Big Machine Music City Grand Prix, “School of Rock will be the perfect addition to our robust music lineup that will further enhance what this event represents. It is incredible to see and hear this group of talented young musicians, and I am excited to share this with our festival goers.”

The three-day international festival of speed and sound August 6-8, 2021 offers something for everyone. It will be staged on a temporary 2.17-mile grand prix circuit in Nashville and around the Nissan Stadium campus. The course will cross the Cumberland River via the Korean Veterans Memorial Bridge, making the Music City Grand Prix the only current event in motorsports to cross over a major body of water.

In addition to a weekend of racing, attendees can look forward to the best Nashville has to offer, including live music performances by top artists, best-in-class food experiences and entertainment that centers on speed in a way only Music City can serve up.

The addition of Vintage Indy to the inaugural weekend will give many fans their first glimpse of the sport’s long and colorful history. Vintage Indy is dedicated to the history and preservation of Indy cars from 1911 to 1997. Every car has been lovingly and meticulously restored. Many times, these cars were your classic “barn finds,” mere dusty shells of their former selves, missing lots of pieces and parts. It takes lots of time, money, skill, research and patience to properly put an Indy car back together but it’s worth the effort. Of course, each one comes with a briefcase full of interesting facts and anecdotes.

“The members of Vintage Indy, myself and our fans are beyond excited to be participating in the inaugural Big Machine Music City Grand Prix, which undoubtedly is destined to be a fantastic weekend for Nashville and the NTT INDYCAR Series”, said Michael Lashmett, President of Vintage Indy.

The Big Machine Music City Grand Prix is a three-day international festival of speed and sound featuring the NTT INDYCAR® SERIES, SRO GT America Series presented by AWS and the Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli. Nashville’s New Marquee Entertainment Event Launches Youth Employment Program & Invests in Local Nonprofit

NASHVILLE, Tenn (April 15, 2021) – The Big Machine Music City Grand Prix is ready to put Nashville on an international stage with the inaugural IndyCar urban racing festival coming to Nashville this August 6-8, 2021. While the event will draw racing fans and festival goers from around the globe, it will be an exciting and impactful event for the local community as well.

The Music City Grand Prix team chose to partner with nonprofit Martha O’Bryan Center, whose headquarter campus in East Nashville is located in immediate proximity to the Nissan Stadium campus and the planned temporary street course for the race. Known for their cradle-to-career investments in young people and families, Martha O’Bryan broadens college and career opportunities for youth in Nashville. One big impact piece of the new partnership: a youth employment program that will bring young people inside the production of a first-class sporting event and the work needed to transform the stadium campus and riverfront into a new, world class racing and entertainment experience.

“We are thrilled to get to know some of the young people at the Martha O’Bryan Center and their programs, and are designing this youth program to be more than just a summer job,” said Chris Parker, President at the Big Machine Music City Grand Prix. “They will work in different aspects of event management, gain valuable work experience in various trade careers, and network with some of the dynamic business professionals, entrepreneurs, and investors that make up our ownership group and advisory board. We are truly invested in the goals and mission of the Martha O’Bryan Center.”

In addition to investing directly in the nonprofit, The Big Machine Music City Grand Prix is also donating unique, one-of-a-kind Music City Grand Prix prizes and experiences for a custom online auction starting May 14, with proceeds benefiting Martha O’Bryan Center. “Many of these items will represent priceless experiences and access to personalities and racing that could not otherwise be for sale,” said Parker.

“The Big Machine Music City Grand Prix has already been very generous and intentional about their role as an event that is not just in Nashville, but for all Nashvillians, including the young people we serve in north and east Nashville,” said Marsha Edwards, CEO at Martha O’Bryan Center. “I expect a lot of young people will become lifelong IndyCar fans through this partnership!”

The Nashville-based multimedia conglomerate includes the Big Machine Label Group with superstar recording artists like Tim McGraw, Florida Georgia Line, Lady A and Carly Pearce; its rapidly-growing spirits company, Big Machine Distillery; and Big Machine Racing. The Big Machine brand aligns with Music City Grand Prix’s philosophy of combining the best of entertainment with racing for the first-of-its-kind festival in Nashville.

Big Machine’s presence in and around the Music City Grand Prix will include significant event branding with prominent product visibility with their full line of spirits, including Big Machine Distillery’s new Big Machine Vodka Spiked Cooler juice pouches, promotions and contests, and the integration of BMLG artists as part of the overall festival line-up.

“Having Big Machine on board is a great alignment with our brand,” says Matt Crews, CEO of Music City Grand Prix. “Big Machine’s President and CEO Scott Borchetta is a racing enthusiast himself and has been an integral part of Music City Grand Prix as an owner. Nashville-Based Group Formed to Drive Best-In-Class Festival and Community Engagement

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE (January 26, 2021) - The Music City Grand Prix announced today the formation of its inaugural advisory board. This talented and knowledgeable group of individuals, who are deeply engrained in the Nashville community, were selected based on their expertise in areas of sports and entertainment, event production, community engagement, hospitality, customer service, finance, construction and development.

The advisory board will help bring to life a best-in-class festival, featuring racing, food and music, this coming August. Ultimately, this volunteer board aims to position The Music City Grand Prix as a mainstay in the Nashville sports and entertainment landscape, creating an annual event that mirrors the incredible success of events such as the CMA MusicFest and 4th of July Fireworks. The three-day festival of speed, sound, food and fun is scheduled for August 6-8, 2021 in Nashville, Tennessee.

“I’m pleased to serve on The Music City Grand Prix advisory board—it’s a group of people who truly believe in Nashville and see the opportunities for growth in our community,” said Monica Fawknotson, executive director, Nashville Sports Authority. “Both as a Nashvillian and Director of the Sports Authority, I am excited for a new, dynamic, privately financed sports and entertainment festival to Middle Tennessee. “I’m honored to be part of this group and exciting new annual event.” said Yuri Cunza, president & CEO, The Nashville Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. “Racing and motorsports have worldwide appeal—popular amongst a diverse international fan base including in numerous Hispanic countries across the globe. We look forward to showcasing the diversity of our community with the addition of events like Music City Grand Prix.”

“We are grateful for the support of our advisory board and look forward to working with them to host an incredible event in August that showcases Music City as an international sporting and entertainment destination,” said Christian Parker, president of the Music City Grand Prix. “Every board member has an established track record of success. More importantly, they have also made an impact in our community, through outreach, engagement, and charitable endeavors, making Music City a better place to live, work, and play for all Nashvillians. We are proud to work closely with them on charitable initiatives, such as affordable housing, child wellness and STEM programs that will provide a positive, long-term impact on our community.”
